Volvo Reveals the XC90 R-Design
Highlights
Volvo has revealed the sporty R-Design version of the XC90 SUV. The model features a more aggressive look, thanks to the full aerodynamic body kit that includes modified front and rear bumpers, bigger alloy wheels with lightly altered wheel arches, twin exhausts, silver roof rails and matte silver side mirrors.
Inside, there are new sports seats, steering wheel paddles, a steering wheel with perforated leather and sports pedals.
"In principle, we have replaced the previous top level with the Inscription and R-Design versions. Both of them feature an elevated content, carefully chosen to emphasise each of their distinctive individual personalities," commented Alain Visser, senior vice president, marketing, sales and customer service of Volvo Car Group.
Power will be provided by the same engine range as the ones we saw in the standard XC90. So, a bunch of 4-cylinder diesel and petrol units will be available as well as a range-topping T8 plug-in hybrid variant.
The XC90 R-Design will be available from October this year in the European markets with deliveries expected to start in May, 2015.
