Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet Facelift Spotted Testing Sans Camouflage
Highlights
New spy photos of the 2022 Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet have surfaced online, and this time around, we get to see the SUV without any camouflage. It is the only convertible model currently on sale from Volkswagen, and in less than two years of the SUV's global launch, the carmaker is now gearing up to launch a facelift. The prototype model was spotted undergoing testing near the carmaker's headquarters, in Wolfsburg, Germany, and we would expect the updated model to be launched sometime in 2022.
Visually, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet facelift will come with minor cosmetic updates, which will include an updated face, featuring a revised bumper, a different pattern for the grille, and new chrome details. The test mule does feature the same LED daytime running lamps but there are no foglamps. Additionally, the headlamps are also expected to receive an updated design.

At the moment, the profile and rear section largely remain unchanged, however, we do expect to see some minor tweaks, like a revised design for the taillamps and new alloy wheels on the production model. We do not get to see the cabin in these photos, however, we expect the facelifted T-Roc Cabriolet to come with a revised interior as well. Of course, it will continue to come with the same convertible soft-top roof.
Under the hood, everything is expected to remain unchanged, offering the same powertrain choices as the existing model. This includes two TSI petrol engines - a 1.0-litre three-cylinder motor developing 113 bhp and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit producing 148 bhp. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox or an options 7-speed DSG automatic unit. VW currently sells only the regular fixed hard-top T-Roc in India, which comes as a CBU (completely built unit) model.
