In addition to this, Volkswagen has also introduced a special offer on the essential 2 Service Value Package (SVP) and a Body and Paint Value package for Polo customers in India. The Volkswagen Polo was the company's most affordable and top-selling model in India until the model was discontinued earlier this year. Furthermore, to ensure long-term assistance, the carmaker has also extended its Road-side Assistance (RSA) plans to up to 3 years, 4 years and 5 years, which customers can buy depending on the customers' requirements.
Volkswagen's Das WeltAuto is one of the few Original Equipment Manufacturers or OEM-led pre-owned car brands in India. The carmaker has big plans for the expansion of its pre-owned car business and is eying a larger pie in this segment, which is expected to see double the number of sales, compared to new car sales, by FY2025.

Speaking with car&bike recently, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen India said, "You would have already seen that the price for a used car now has gone up by 5-7 per cent in this year itself. It is a good thing because that makes the business model for the pre-owned cars more lucrative. So, yes, the used car business is quickly outpacing the new car business and then there is the accessibility to used cars than new cars."
However, Gupta says that at the moment, the company is facing a supply shortage as the demand for pre-owned cars is concentrated on young used vehicles that have not done more than 50,000 km and are not older than 3-5 years. And that is exactly where the number of cars available is significantly less.
