Volkswagen has released a new teaser for its upcoming fully electric van, the VW ID.Buzz, and this time around the company has hinted that the EV will be unveiled in 2022. The carmaker, in its social media post, said, "2022 is coming soon: the year of the new #VWIDBuzz! Minibus. Buckle up and catch a first glimpse!" The new ID.Buzz is essentially and modern electric avatar of the iconic VW Bus, and the company has already revealed the concept car, and Volkswagen was also seen testing it for self-driving application.

The upcoming Volkswagen ID.Buzz to be offered in both personal and commercial vehicle options, with autonomous technology mainly being used for the latter. In fact, the company had also revealed the Cargo concept van. Visually the ID.Buzz will have the typical van-like design - so big, boxy - with modern styling and elements like LED headlights with LED DRLs, and LED taillamps. The pre-production unit in the teaser also reveals a beefy bumper with a diamond pattern grille and also front sensors, which indicate that the car will get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems or ADAS, with some amount of autonomous ability.

While the official specifications are yet to be announced, when VW showcased the concept van, the company had said that the electric vehicle can offer up to 364 bhp, thanks to a 111 kWh battery and a range of 432 kilometres. The company had said that it will also get an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, which means there will be two electric motors on offer, one for each axle.
