Video Shows Off Imposing Rivian Electric Van For Amazon
Highlights
- The electric van has been spotted in Michigan
- Amazon was slated to receive deliveries for the van this month
- Rivian will start selling the van to third parties in 2023
While we have seen images and videos before of the electric van that Rivian has been developing for Amazon, for the first time a Twitter user has posted a live video of the electric van while it was being recharged. And by the looks of it, it is quite imposing. Rivian was slated to start deliveries of the electric van in December and it seems like it has met its own internal deadline right on cue. The van was seen in Woodhaven, Michigan.
The Rivian made delivery van was being recharged at an EVgo charging station which was shared by EV proponent @MissGoElectric who was driving her own Tesla Model S. The video gives a nice close-up view of the new Rivian van. Rivian is going to be focusing a lot on this van considering Amazon which is also one of its main investors has ordered 100,000 of them.

So cool to see one in person!! It's so big ???? pic.twitter.com/Yov3CFQ2uh
Rivian has also now revealed that post-2023, it will also be selling this van to other third parties which could make a big chunk of its revenues. Many companies are looking for ways for their logistics to become green and Rivian's unique technology could be the answer behind this transformation which would make for a lucrative b2b business.
Already, Rivian has skyrocketed in market capitalisation which makes it the third most valuable car company on the planet despite the fact it started delivering vehicles only in the 2nd half of 2021.
