American motorcycle manufacturer Vanguard has unveiled the company's first bike - the Vanguard Roadster. The New York City based motorcycle company will debut its first motorcycle at the New York Motorcycle Show from 9-11 December 2016.
Vanguard will offer three models, but for now, only one model is being unveiled - the Roadster. The Roadster features a 1917cc v-twin engine from S&S which makes close to 150Nm of torque. Currently, the bike is in prototype stage and includes high-quality bits like Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes and Metzeler tyres.
The design is unique, with an integrated exhaust and massive dashboard with LCD screen which also features images from a rear-facing camera that substitute for rear view mirrors. The full metal body and carbon fibre fuel tank lend the Vanguard Roadster a unique look, as does the frameless structural engine and a unitized crankcase. The production model will be available from 2018, and Vanguard says it will be priced at US$ 29,995 (around Rs 20 lakh).
