Upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Super Meteor 650 Spied Testing In New Video
Highlights
Royal Enfield has quite a few launches lined up for the Indian market across segments. The most anticipated of these is the new range of 650cc parallel twin models as well as the more powerful Himalayan. Now a new video is being circulated on WhatsApp showing the Super Meteor 650 and the new Himalayan 450 testing side by side.
Royal Enfield’s new 650 cc cruiser, the Super Meteor shares a design reminiscent of the smaller Meteor 350 with a low set seat, forward-positioned foot pegs and a flowing rear fender. The retro-inspired design, a signature of Royal Enfield, remains with the round headlight and turn signals, tear-drop-shaped fuel tank and a simple round stop lamp pod integrated into the rear fender.

The bike also seemed to house an asymmetric instrument cluster with a larger pod offset to one side accompanied by a smaller unit – likely a Tripper navigation pod. The exhaust was finished in chrome with a different design finisher than the recently seen Shotgun 650.
Coming to the Himalayan 450, the basic design of the test mule looked close to the current Himalayan 411 with an upright riding position, long travel suspension and a large upright windscreen. However similar design aside, the new Himalayan is expected to be new from the grounds up featuring an all-new chassis as well as getting an all-new engine.

While details for the same are yet to be confirmed, the new Himalayan 450 is expected to get a higher capacity liquid-cooled mill with output expected to be notably higher than the 411. The unit is likely to feature a dual overhead cam set-up and could be paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The Super Meteor 650 meanwhile is set to be powered by the familiar 650 cc parallel twin unit already in use by the Continental GT and Interceptor 650..
