Two-Wheeler Sales July 2022: Bajaj Auto Domestic Sales Grow 31.4% MoM

Bajaj Auto's overall sales remained more or less the same, but its domestic two-wheeler sales figures saw a jump of 31.4 per cent over last month.

Bajaj Auto has reported two-wheeler sales of 3,15,054 units in July 2022, a decline of 5 per cent compared to overall two-wheeler sales in July 2021, when Bajaj had despatched 3,30,569 units. Of these, Bajaj Auto's domestic market sales grew by 5 per cent, from 1,56,232 units in July 2021 to 1,64,384 units in July 2022. Sales performance in overseas markets however, saw a decline of 14 per cent, as the figures dropped from 1,74,337 in July 2021 to 1,50,670 in July 2022.

Compared to last month when Bajaj sold 3,15,948 two-wheelers, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer saw a small drop of 0.3 per cent in sales. However, domestic two-wheeler sales grew from 1,25,083 units in June 2022 to 1,64,384 units in July, reporting a 31.4 per cent month-over-month growth, while exports dropped 21 per cent month-over-month.

Bajaj Auto's commercial vehicle sales grew 3 per cent in July 2022, when it despatched 39,616 units, compared to 38,547 units the company had despatched in July 2021. Overall two-wheeler and commercial vehicle sales dropped 4 per cent year-over-year with 3,54,670 units sold in July 2022, but overall domestic market sales grew 9 per cent from 1,67,273 units in July 2021 to 1,82,956 units in July 2022.

In the year-to-date period, from April to July 2022, overall two-wheeler sales declined 6 per cent at 11,62,212 units, compared to 12,29,874 units sold in the same period a year ago. In the domestic market, year-to-date volumes of motorcycle sales declined 4 per cent recording 4,78,802 unit sales, compared to 4,98,784 unit sales in the same period a year ago.
