TVS Motor Company has patented the design of the upcoming TVS Apache RR 310S, the first full-faired motorcycle from the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer. The image isn't of the best quality, but it does reveal the fairing design and other components, without the camouflage covered test bikes we have seen in spy shots so far. The TVS Apache RR 310S is based on the BMW G 310 R, a bike jointly developed by TVS and BMW Motorrad, and made in India at TVS Motor Company's plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

The BMW G 310 R is already on sale in markets abroad, but BMW Motorrad has put on hold the bike's launch in India, focussing instead on developing its dealership and service network for now. With the design being patented now, looks like TVS is planning to launch the Apache RR 310S anytime in the next few months. Like the G 310 R, the TVS Apache RR 310S is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 313 cc engine, which makes around 34 bhp of power and 28 Nm of peak torque.

So far, there's been no confirmation of when the Apache RR 310S will be launched. But we have reason to believe that the launch of the entry-level sportbike from TVS is sooner than expected, maybe even as early as September. As for pricing, we expect TVS to price the Apache RR 310S under Rs. 2 lakh. If TVS does manage to pull off a very competitive pricing of around Rs. 1.75- 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), then the Apache RR 310S will certainly have all it takes to be a winner in one of the fastest growing motorcycle segments.
