The 2018 Tiger 800 was launched last year and includes as many as 200 small changes to the outgoing model, and the engine has been mass optimised for more responsiveness and character. A shorter ratio first gear delivers better low-speed traction and instant responsiveness, and a lighter exhaust delivers a better soundtrack from the triple cylinder engine. The Tiger 800 XCx already is loaded with features, including a 5-inch, full-colour TFT screen, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), five riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road and Off-Road Pro). The 800 XCx comes with standard aluminium bash plate, cruise control, and WP suspension.

The XCa also features full-LED lighting, including headlight, indicators and taillight, and standard LED auxiliary lighting. The screen includes three additional screen styles, and the XCa also features heated rider and pillion seats, as well as a standard centre stand and CNC machined footpegs.

The Triumph Tiger 800 is one of the most popular middleweight adventure bikes in India, and so far there are more than 1000 Tiger 800 customers in India. The Tiger 800 is in fact, the second largest selling model in the Triumph portfolio in India, after the Triumph Street Twin.

In India, the Triumph Tiger 800 XCA competes with the BMW F 850 GS, as well as the Ducati Multistrada 950. With the top-spec XCA variant made available, discerning Tiger fans will welcome the fully kitted out variant, although the XCX has most of the usual off-road specific kit already installed. The most useful bits on the XCA are the standard centre stand, the programmable Rider mode, and the standard LED auxiliary lights. Full-LED lighting will also ensure that the XCA has all-round better lighting than the XCX.
