The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift received a mid-life facelift in February this year and along with a bunch of cosmetic updates it also got a new dual-tone interior, updated features and a more powerful petrol engine. The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is offered in a total of four main trims - LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. These trims are further divided into nine different variants based on engine, transmission and body colour choices. Here are the highlights.

The most noticeable change made to the exterior is the addition of dual-tone colour options,

In terms of looks, the updated Swift comes with a revised face, featuring a new, sportier-looking mesh grille with a chrome slat at the centre. However, the headlamps and the bumper remain unchanged, and with continue to get projector light with LED daytime running lamps and large halogen foglamps. The Swift facelift also continues to come with the same precision-cut two-tone alloy wheels, and the same LED taillamps. That said, the most noticeable change made to the exterior is the addition of dual-tone colour options, and there 3 shades you can choose from - Solid Fire Red with Pearl Midnight Black Roof, Pearl Arctic White with Pearl Midnight Black Roof, and Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue with Pearl Arctic White Roof. Also, the dual-tone options are only offered with the top-of-the-line ZXi+ and ZXi+ AMT variants. The single tone colour options include - Pearl Metallic Lucent Orange, Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Magma Grey, Solid Fire Red, Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue and Pearl Arctic White.

Maruti Suzuki has updated both the instrument cluster of the 2021 Swift..

As for the cabin, the 2021 Swift continues to come with an all-black interior with the same matching fabric upholstery. The dashboard design also remains unchanged, however, Maruti Suzuki has updated both the instrument cluster and MID of the 2021 Swift. It now gets a new 4.2-inch multi-information coloured TFT display instead of the older monochrome unit.

the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift now also comes with cruise control, with buttons mounted on the steering wheel. Other creature comforts like automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, flat-bottom steering wheel, height-adjustable driver seat, power windows with anti-pinch and one touch up & down function for diver's side window. On the safety front, the model now comes with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill-Hold on the AMT versions, bigger brakes at the front and rear, as well as revised steering with a better return-ability mechanism. Other features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, pre-tensioner and force limiters, seatbelt reminder for the front seats, ISOFIX anchors and reverse parking sensors with camera among others.

The 1.2-litre motor has been updated to deliver better performance.

There is a new powertrain as well with the older 1.2-litre K-Series motor replaced with the new-generation 1.2-litre Dual Jet VVT petrol engine that is also seen on the Baleno hatchback. The new engine also comes with increased power output, up from 82 bhp to 88 bhp at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4200 rpm. It also gets Idle Start Stop (ISS) technology for enhanced efficiency, while it also gets Dual VVT and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system that help achieve lower emissions. As a result, the new Swift is now more fuel-efficient and claims an ARAI certified 23.20 kmpl on the manual and 23.76 kmpl on the AMT version.
