Top 5 Highlights: Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
Highlights
- The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes with SUVish proportions
- It also gets the 7-inch Smartplay 2.0 touchscreen infotainment system
- The S-Presso gets the 1.0-litre engine from the Alto K10
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso was launched in India back in September 2019, and it marked the entry of the company in the ever-growing micro-SUV space. Based on the Future S concept, which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the S-Presso comes with a tall, upright stance, decent ground clearance and bold design with SUV-like characteristics. It is a direct rival to the likes of the Renault Kwid, Datsun redi-GO and the upcoming Tata HBX. And here are some of the major highlights of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso.
1. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes with SUVish proportions thanks to the upright stance, increased ground clearance, bold claddings all around and almost vertical pillars. The face borrows design cues from the Vitara Brezza, housing a similarly designed grille and tall front bumper. The car comes with a set of 14-inch wheels.
2. Inside, the S-Presso gets a smart-looking all-black cabin with a dashboard that gets body-coloured inserts, in the top trims. The big highlight here is the round centre console, which is inspired by the Mini Cooper.
3. The car houses the digital instrument cluster along with Maruti's SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, which has smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, front power windows, HVAC, 12V power socket and rear parcel tray.
4. The S-Presso gets decent safety features such as a driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, and speed sensing door locks are standard. However, as an option, customers can get passenger-side airbag and seatbelt reminder for both front passengers. The top-end trim gets all as standard.
5. The S-Presso gets the same 1.0-litre petrol engine as the Alto K10 hatchback which is BS6 compliant. The motor puts out 67 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with an optional AMT unit.
