This includes, among other things, keeping it in drivable condition for as long as possible, or at the very least until they can upgrade to a car with more features and capabilities. However, many car owners simply do not perform the preventive auto maintenance required to extend the life of their vehicle, resulting in major mechanical issues that could have been prevented.

Follow these six basic tips to keep a vehicle in good shape.

1. Check the Owner Manual:

The user manual is the first and most important resource you should consult before implementing recommendations. You'll find item-by-item information about your vehicle here. If you can't find a paper copy of this handbook, go online and look for it on your manufacturer's website. Security, child safety, keys and remote control, specs, gasoline and refilling, driving aid, car care, and much more are likely to be found in the user handbook. 2. Check the Air Pressure in the Tires

After that, you must know how to properly separate the battery and clean the terminal contacts as needed. Remember to detach the battery's negative terminal first.
