INR 34 lakhs for Toyota Fortuner

This number plate is the most expensive one in India. The cost of this car's number plate was more than the car itself! Ashik Patel, a huge fan of James Bond, wanted his car plate number to be 007 and he paid INR 34 lakhs for it. A Toyota Fortuner's ex-Delhi showroom price was recorded at INR 30 lakhs.

INR 31 lakhs and INR 18 lakhs for Porsche and Toyota Land Cruiser

KS Balagopal owns two luxury cars and wanted special number plates for both cars. A love affair with the number 1, the Indian businessman Balagopal paid INR 31 lakhs and INR 18 lakhs to get the #1 number plate for his Porsche 718 Boxster and Toyota Land Cruiser.

INR 26 lakhs for Jaguar XJ L and BMW 5 Series

Rahul Taneja, once a mechanic, obsesses over the digit 1 and owned a second-hand scooter whose plate number added up to 1. This is why the Indian businessman spent a whopping INR 16 lakhs for his Jaguar XL J and INR 10.3 lakhs for this BMW 5 Series sedan.

Hailing from Chandigarh, Jagjit Singh owns a black-coloured Land Cruiser SUV and many more in his garage. He has spent INR 17 lakhs in an auction to get the plate number of CH 01 AN 0001. Many of his other cars also have a plate number of 0001.

INR 60 crores for Rolls Royce

Although Balvinder Singh Sahni is settled in Dubai, we could not end this list without mentioning his name. The founder and chairman of the RSG Group of Companies, Sahni has bought a D5 registration number for his Rolls Royce. This cost him about AED 33 million, converting to roughly INR 67.95 crores. Hold your surprise as this is not the first time he has spent such an exorbitant amount on a number plate. His previous Rolls Royce Phantom has a ‘09' number plate for which he shelled out AED 25 million, converting to roughly INR 51.49 crores. The businessman's garage is full of other luxury cars with similarly obtained number plates.
