We've seen car companies tie up with university students and create concept cars, well Toyota has done something similar. Toyota has teamed up with students at Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research to create the uBox concept.

It's taken two years to build this car and the uBox features unique styling that is designed to appeal to the Generation Z buyers. One look at the car and you'll notice that it won't appeal to everyone but it gets some things that make it more futuristic. Things like LED daytime running lights, suicide rear doors, and a curved glass roof that is supported by composite carbon fibre rails bonded with aluminium add to the appeal of the uBox concept.

As with the Generation Z, which demands things that suit their taste, Toyota has gone ahead and made the interior is highly customizable. It features reconfigurable and removable seats which are mounted on sliding tracks. The university students in fact gave drivers a choice to help in envisioning a cabin for the future and that's when an online community was formed where owners could share designs for customized air vents and display bezels as well as unique door trim. These designs could then be downloaded and reproduced using a 3D printer.

There is no mention on the engine from Toyota yet but it's confirmed that the uBox will come with an electric powertrain. It also has an assortment of 110-volt outlets which can be used to power everything from tools to a laptop.
