The Road To The 2020 World Car Awards Begins With Two Big Announcements
Highlights
It's just been a couple of months since the 2019 World Car Awards were announced and now the work towards the 2020 edition starts. The road to the 2020 World Car Awards has begun with two big announcements; the first among which is the introduction of new jurors who will join the 2020 panel. They are: Stefan Grundhoff from Germany, Hani Mustafa from India, Vincent Nguyen and George Notaras from the US. The second announcement was the World Car Awards' confirmed status as the number one awards program across the globe for the seventh consecutive year according to Prime Research's latest Global Automotive Awards media monitoring report. The audience reach of the Awards has grown by 16 per cent to a record 247 million.

This is just the beginning though and there will be several stops along 'The Road to World Car' journey beginning with the Frankfurt motor show on September 10, when the eligible vehicles will be announced. After which the action moves to Los Angeles for the sixth annual L.A. Test Drives event in mid-November where the jurors will have the chance to test-drive, and vote, on the eligible vehicles that may not be available in their home markets.
The World Car Finals countdown will begin in early February 2020 as the jurors vote for their favourites and their ballots are tabulated by the international accounting firm KPMG. First the Top 10 and Top 5 in each category will be announced followed by the top three in the world finalists at the Geneva International Motor Show on March 3, 2020. The journey's grande finale will take place when the winners are officially declared in all six categories at the awards ceremony that will open the New York International Auto Show on April 8, 2020.
Then it is back to the London Motor & Tech show in May where the 2020 winners announced at the New York show will be celebrated. And a glimpse of the 2021 contenders will be offered.
