The 1968 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART is definitely one of the most highly desirable classic Ferraris out there. The fact that the Italian carmaker only made 10 of this exceptional prancing horse make it all the more special and substantially rarer than almost all of its iconic colleagues. Currently one of the most important road-going Ferraris in the carmaker's history, this special convertible was built as part of an ingenious collaboration between American Ferrari importer extraordinaire Luigi Chinetti and Enzo Ferrari. In fact the car also bares Chinetti's North American Racing Team's race-winning moniker.

That is not it; the car even has a special place in the history of cinema due to its association with actor and car enthusiast, Steve McQueen. Apparently the iconic car and the iconic actor shared the silver screen in one of the latter's popular movies - The Thomas Crown Affair. What makes the car al the more special is that it is the only one delivered new to Europe, and the third from last 275-series Ferrari of any kind to be constructed. Coming to what it packs under the hood, the Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART is paired to a meaty V-12 engine that belts out 330bhp.

Commenting on the inclusion of this iconic car in their auction, Rob Myers, Chairman and CEO, RM Sotheby's said, "It is a privilege to present this NART Spyder, not only because of its importance and rarity, but also because its offering at auction is such an extraordinary event. Ownership of a NART Spyder represents membership in a club of only nine other enthusiasts around the world. If a Ferrari is the choice of car connoisseurs, then the NART Spyder is the choice of Ferrari connoisseurs." The car is expected to fetch an estimated figure of €19 million (more than Rs. 143 Crore) or more at the Monaco auction.
