It was only a few days ago when we told you about the Abu Dhabi police force recruiting a Rolls-Royce Phantom in their fleet of cars. Now there's news of the Dubai police gaining a new member; they've just taken delivery of a BMW i8.

The BMW i8 joins a generous range of supercars, which includes the Bugatti Veyron, Aston Martin One-77 and the Lamborghini Aventador. Interestingly, this will be the first hybrid car in the fleet which is any petrolheads dream come true.

The i8 will sport the same green livery seen on the other cars of the Dubai police's fleet. Just so you know, their fleet brags of names like the Lexus RC-F, McLaren MP4-12C, BMW M6 Gran Coupe, Ferrari FF, Audi R8, Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG, Brabus B63S-700 Widestar, Bentley Continental, Nissan GT-R and a Mercedes-Benz SLS.
