The Boring Company To Start Hyperloop Tests This Year

Elon Musk's Boring Company will be starting full-scale hyperloop tests later this year. Images on the official website of the tunneling company revealed the launch of Prufrock 2 in Bastrop, Texas. The image suggests that the company has already lauded the tunnel boring machine. The Boring Company Twitter handle also revealed that Hyperloop testing would being this year.
The Boring Company recently raised $675 million in series C funding which will be used to recruit employees and build tunnels and scale the burning machine production. The Prufrock 2 which is the current interaction of the boring machine has been designed to mine up to 1 mile per week. The company estimates that at the current speed of Prufrock 2 it can tunnel through the length of the Las Vegas strip at a rate of 4 miles per month.
Its Vegas loop will include stops across the Las Vegas strip with planned a 29 km stretch with overall 51 stops planned across the sunset strip touching various points of interest. This is the strip that will bring Elon Musk's vision for the hyperloop alive.
The next generation boring machine, the Prufrock 3 will likely be instrumental in creating a functional hyperloop. Prufrock 3 will be faster than its predecessors and will be able to mine 7 miles per day.
While this is happening, Musk's Tesla has been on a tear with a record quarter and he is now also the owner of microblogging platform Twitter which he acquired for $44 billion.
