Tesla Delays The Unveiling Of Model Y

Tesla was to reveal its latest car, the Model Y on October 17, which was two days ago. Evidently, there was no launch. Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, said on Twitter that there will be a delay of a few days as the product (Model Y) needs a little more time for 'refinement'. Tesla had announced earlier in 2016 that it will be expanding its model portfolio to include electric vans, minibus and even a pick-up truck.

Elon Musk had further added that the October 2016 reveal might be something 'unexpected' too. Well, we will have to wait and watch how it unfolds.

From what we hear, Tesla will be updating the technology bit as well in form of improved charging, road-imaging technology and so on. There are no other details about the Model Y as of now. Tesla's driverless tech is still a few months away, so it is not going to be that for sure.

The Model Y will most likely be a compact SUV of sorts, which will be based on the Model 3. The commercial EV line-up will share its underpinnings with the Model X. All the future models from Tesla will have the same underpinnings as the Model 3 or the Model X. Keep watching this space as we bring you up to speed with the latest launch from Tesla.
