Tata Nano's New Variant Launched at Rs 2.06 Lakh
Highlights
Tata Motors is trying hard to revive the Nano brand, which has seen a constant drop in its sales. In order to boost its sales, the company has launched a new variant - Nano Twist XE - in India at Rs 2.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). After a few months, we'll also see an AMT-equipped model of the car.
The Nano Twist XE gets decent comfort features including power steering, air conditioning unit and a heater. This variant has black finished bumpers, door handles and side mirrors. It is available in three exterior shades - Pearl White, Meteor Silver and Royal Gold.
The new Nano Twist XE base variant misses out on a music system, front power windows, coin and magazine holder. It also lacks 12V power socket and a rear parcel shelf. This variant doesn't have central locking, which is offered on the car's top-end variant. Moreover, the chrome strips at the front and rear are also missing.
This variant comes devoid of wheel covers, roof-mounted antenna and fog-lamps - in order to keep its cost down. Under the hood is the same 624cc, 2-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 37bhp and a peak torque of 51Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual gearbox.
