Italian motorcycle brand SWM, which is owned by Chinese firm Shineray, has confirmed that it will be launching four new V-twin engines with different displacements in the near future. These new V-Twin engines will manufactured in a 350 cc, 550 cc, 850 cc and 1200 cc guises. Currently, SWM gets its engines from either Husqvarna or Shineray and all of them are single-cylinder engines. The new SWM engines were announced at an event in Chongqing, China which marked the 20th anniversary of Shineray.
With new engines being displayed, the officials also confirmed that SWM will be working on new motorcycles to go with them. The 350 cc engine will make its debut on a new bike that will cater to riders who are new to the performance bike segment, while the 1200 cc engine will be fitted on a new superbike that SWM is working on. Now why is this relevant? It is only because Kinetic MotoRoyale (the same group that brought MV Agusta to India and will soon bring Norton as well) will be launching the SWM SuperDual single-cylinder adventure motorcycle. It is SWM's flagship motorcycle. At present, SWM has 12 models on sale ranging from a 125 cc model to the 600 cc SuperDual.
