Highlights

The next American presidential election is still an year away, and there seems to be a lot of confusion about who will go on to become Barack Obama's successor. However, there is one department concerning the next American president that folks seem to know more about - the presidential state car. Just so you know, President Obama's limousine is built on a Chevrolet Kodiak medium duty truck chassis and looks like a Cadillac DTS. The next one is also likely to get the same chassis but will look like latest Cadillac cars.

Interestingly, the United States' government had first requested for proposals for the car in 2013.

The only spy photo of the car reveals much about the car, including the fact that its front-end tends to remind the onlooker of the new Cadillac CT6 sedan. Also, the next presidential limousine will be the first to feature the carmaker's new crest logo sans the wreath.

While there's a good chance that its features will never become public knowledge, there are a few things you can be sure about. First, it will be bulletproof and also bomb-proof (at least to an extent). It will most certainly get a secondary air supply in the event of a chemical attack or some such thing. Top that off with the latest from the world of communication and safety technology.

The new presidential car will go into service in 2017, perhaps at the inauguration of America's next president.
