The new Skoda Octavia vRS also gets a revised suspension setup and a wider track at the rear. The dynamic chassis control or the DCC is a standard fitment and this gives the car the agility it needs. The Skoda Octavia vRS gets a 2.0-litre TSI motor, which produces 230bhp and peak torque of 350Nm. The 0-100 kmph mark is breached in 6.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 kmph.
The other option is the 2.0-litre TDI engine which produces 184bhp and peak torque of 380Nm. It can hit a maximum speed of 232 kmph and takes 7.9 seconds to reach 100 kmph from standstill. The TDI model can be specified with a 4-wheel drive system as well. Both the engine variants come with a 6-speed manual transmission or with a 6-speed DSG unit as well. The car also gets a variety of driver assistance systems and the latest generation of the Skoda infotainment systems.
Till date, Skoda has sold over 200,000 models of the Octavia RS and vRS variants of which 100,000 variants were of the 2013 variant itself. India too has seen the vRS variant and we hope to see it giving the Octavia sales a boost.
