Skoda Kushaq Style AT Variants Updated With 6 Airbags & TPMS; Prices Here

The Skoda Kushaq Style automatic variants have been updated with six airbags and the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), the company has announced. The features were missing on the variants at the time of launch but customers demanded the same on the top-end automatic trims. As a result, the Kushaq Style AT now gets the safety features, albeit at a premium of Rs. 40,000. The Skoda Kushaq 1.0 Style AT is now priced at Rs. 16.20 lakh, while the Kushaq 1.5 Style AT with the additional features is priced at Rs. 18 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India). Deliveries for the new variants will begin in October this year.

In a statement, Skoda Auto India said, "Witnessing an overwhelming demand for the Kushaq, Skoda Auto India will be equipping the automatic Style variants with six airbags (both 1.0L and 1.5L) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) at an incremental cost of approximately Rs. 40,000.
The Skoda Kushaq is available in three variants - Active, Ambition, and Style. The top-spec trim gets features like LED headlamps with DRLs, LED tail lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, an electric sunroof and roof rails. The cabin gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and wireless charging.
Power comes from two engine options - the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, TSI petrol engine with 113 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque. There's also the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI with 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. A six-speed manual unit is standard, while a six-speed automatic unit comes with the 1.0-litre version, while a 7-speed DSG is available with the 1.5-litre model.

The Skoda Kushaq Style AT variants is now well-equipped to take on rivals including the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos that already get these features. However, the Kushaq now also commands a premium over the Korean models with the 1.5 TSI mill. The compact SUV will also lock horns against the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and the MG Astor in the segment that arrive within a few days from now.
