Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Exports First 3,000 Units of VW Virtus To Mexico

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) has announced that it has shipped the first batch of 3,000 units of the Volkswagen Virtus to Mexico. The company had recently launched the compact sedan in the Mexican market with prices starting around the 3,24,990 Mexican Pesos (about Rs 13 lakh).

Commenting on the occasion, Piyush Arora, Managing Director of ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India said, “We are marching aggressively on our path to growth, and the ramp-up of our exports is another significant stride in this direction. Volkswagen recently announced prices for the Virtus for the Mexican market
The Virtus is the latest of the MQB A0 IN platform models to be exported from India following the VW Taigun (T-Cross in some export markets) exports for which commenced earlier in the year. The units have been shipped out from the port of Mumbai.

SAVWIPL commenced export operations from India back in 2011 with the VW Vento and currently exports products to 44 countries across the globe. The company said that as of June 2022 it had exported over 5.5 lakh units from India with Mexico being the largest market followed by South Africa and Central America.
