Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up Simple Energy will launch electric vehicles in the B2B (business to business) segment. The company is still working on its first electric scooter, codenamed the Mark 2, which will be launched on August 15, 2021. The B2B electric two-wheeler will be designed keeping in mind the requirements of Indian companies to adapt to electric solutions in logistics services, the company said in a statement. The tentative launch timeline of the first B2B product will be around October or November this year. Initially, Simple Energy will launch a B2B two-wheeler, and will add electric three-wheelers as well as four-wheelers, the company said in a statement.

Speaking on this announcement, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy said, "Via Simple Energy and all its offerings, we aim to disrupt and set a product benchmark in the EV segment, and particularly the logistic market through the B2B product. Another challenge was to match the price point expectation of the business; we needed to create a product that is not only better looking, but also should have the right mix of utility and price."

According to Simple Energy, the first B2B product has been developed in-house, and will have maximum usage of IoT (Internet of Things) at the best possible price. The electric two-wheeler will also come with a removable battery which will offer battery-swapping and a modular design. The company claims that its B2B two-wheeler will be purpose-built to reduce maintenance costs, and to also address issues of low speed on electric two-wheelers with high loads. Simple Energy says its electric two-wheeler B2B product will likely be the fastest in its segment, and will offer a superior solution for last-mile fleets, logistics and other allied businesses.
