Highlights
- New Hunter 350 expected to arrive in early August
- Based on the J platform as with the new Classic and Meteor 350s
- Will be powered by the same 349cc single cylinder engine.
Royal Enfield’s upcoming Hunter 350 motorcycle has been spotted once again out on the road. The test mule was plugged into testing equipment likely monitoring all the motorcycles performance parameters ahead of the bike’s launch in the Indian market. The short video also provided an audio clue to the bike engine and exhaust note which seemed to be unique to the model. Based on Royal Enfield’s J platform – also used by the new Classic 350 and Meteor 350, the new Hunter 350 shares the same engine though the design is more contemporary roadster than its more retro-styled siblings.

Leaked images have already provided a clearer look at the bike’s design. The Hunter retains the retro-styled elements familiar to Royal Enfield buyers such as the round light clusters as well as the round handlebar mounted rear view mirrors. Other distinctive elements include the single piece seat, upswept exhaust and the shortened rear mudguard. The foot pegs too seem to be located a little more to the back than on the Classic and Meteor though the rider still sits quite upright. The test mule additionally seemed to sport a single off-set instrument pod.

On the engine front, the Hunter is expected to get the same 349cc, single-cylinder unit as the Classic and the Meteor. The unit develops 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm in the current 350 twins though it remains to be seen if the Hunter might get a slightly different engine tune.
The new Hunter 350 is expected to make its debut in early August with the bike likely to be positioned below the Classic and Meteor. Expect it to be priced in the region of Rs. 1.50 lakh.
