Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition Bookings To Begin Tomorrow

A month since the prices were first revealed, Royal Enfield will finally open bookings for Classic 500 Pegasus Edition motorcycle in India tomorrow on July 10, 2018. Priced at Rs. 2.40 lakh (on-road, Delhi), the limited edition motorcycle is exclusively available online for bookings with production limited to just 250 units for the country, while 1000 units will be sold globally. The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition draws inspiration from the Flying Flea motorcycles that were used during the World War II by the British army.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition draws inspiration from the Flying Flea motorcycles that were used during the World War II by the British army, and comes with aesthetic changes that pay homage to the original two-stroke RE/WD 125 bikes  that served at the time. Bookings for the Pegasus Edition will start at sharp 2.00 pm on Royal Enfield's website.

    With production limited to just 250 units, the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition is seen a collectible for the enthusiasts of the motorcycle brand. The bike is available for purchase only online and can't be had via any of the company's outlets pan India. If you are still interested in bringing the most expensive Royal Enfield home, you can still visit the manufacturer's website and register for the purchase tomorrow. A unique code will be generated, which you will need to login tomorrow to purchase the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus.

    As part of the changes inspired from the Flying Fleas, the Classic 500 Pegasus Edition recreates a host of elements inspired by the original. The bike gets the Service Brown paint scheme, while each of the 1000 unts will come with their own unique serial number stencilled on the fuel tank. The tank also carries the Pegasus emblem that represents the Parachute regiment insignia, alongside the period-correct Royal Enfield badges.

    Furthermore, the Royal Enfield Pegasus Edition comes with brown handlebar grips, a leather strap with brass buckles across the air filter, military style canvas panniers and badges including the tyre pressure on the rear mudguard and the centre of gravity sticker on the engine, akin to the original motorcycles. Keeping the looks authentic, the chrome bits have been blacked out including the headlight bezel, kick-start lever, spoked wheels, engine and crankcase, exhaust and foot pegs.

    Power on the Classic 500 Pegasus Edition comes from the same 499 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine tuned for 27.2 bhp and 41.3 Nm of peak torque, while paired with a 5-speed transmission. Mechanical bits remain the same with telescopic forks up front and twin shocks at the rear, while anchorage comes from disc brakes at either end. In addition to the motorcycle, Royal Enfield has also introduced a limited range of apparel based on the Pegasus edition that will be available for purchase separately.
