Rimac C_Two Production Model To Debut On June 1
Highlights
It's been a long time coming, the Rimac C_Two, very long, infact. We first saw the car in 2018 as a prototype model at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Then our hopes to see a production model were renewed, when the company announced that it will showcase the new car at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. But it was not to be, as the Geneva Motor Show was cancelled because of the on going pandemic.
The company is now ready to unveil the production model of the car on June 1 and it's not going to be called the C_Two. In fact, in the teaser the company has pointed out that it will get a new name, which has definitely taken our curiosity up a notch. It says that the production version of the car is "more extreme performance, new official name, immersive features, extraordinary technology, and exceptional engineering in its final form."
The Rimac C_Two gets 4 indepandent electric motors
The C_Two can do 0-96.5 kilometres per hour in less than two seconds at around 1.85 seconds. It has four independent electric motors which can deploy 1888 bhp and 2,300nm of torque. The rear motors are even equipped with a two-speed gearbox something Porsche pioneered with the Taycan while the front motors have a single speeded gearbox. All four motors are powered by 120kWh of energy capacity housed in two separate battery packs capable of fast DC-charging.
