Renault, Nissan, and Skoda to Hike Car Prices From January, 2016
Highlights
The increase in the prices of the cars is up to 3 per cent and the price hike will come into effect from the first week of January, 2016. Cars from the Micra to the Terrano will see a steep rise in price, while the Datsun range of cars will also be part of this price hike.
Renault India too announced a hike across its model range and this includes seven models - Kwid, Pulse, Scala, Duster, Lodgy, Fluence and Koleos which are priced between Rs 2.56 lakh and Rs 23.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Kwid was launched in September this year and has already had its fair share of success and it's sold 10,600 units in two months. The company has managed to rake in consumers not only with the attractive pricing but also the features. The 3 per cent hike however, will not see a major hike and the price of the car.
Another car manufacturer that has announced a price hike is Czech auto maker Skoda. The price of its entire model range will go up to Rs 50,000 from January in order to offset the impact of rising input costs.

"The increase will vary from 2 to 3 per cent across the entire product portfolio. The price increase will translate into a hike of around Rs 14,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the model and the variant, it added.
