Range Rover Velar India Prices Announced; Start At Rs. 78.83 Lakh

    Land Rover today announced the prices of the much awaited Range Rover Velar. The Velar has been launched in India and prices start at Rs. 78.83 lakh going all the way up to Rs. 1.37 crore. The Velar joins the Range rover pack and sits right between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. The new SUV features an almost coupe like roofline with a very wide and sporty stance while still staying true to the Range Rover design philosophy.

    The Velar features an almost coupe like roofline 

    The Velar will be available in in three powertrains - two diesel and one petrol. The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine churns out 177 bhp while the more powerful 3.0-litre V6 puts out 296 bhp. There's also the petrol 2-litre which is capable of producing 247 bhp.

    The Range Rover Velar will sit between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport 

    The Velar is available in the R-Dynamic and even the First Edition versions while all three powertrains are available in the S, SE and HSE variant. The Range Rover Velar also features a brand new design language for the interior. To begin with, the Velar has two large centrally mounted touchscreens, one for the infotainment and one for functions like climate control.

    The Velar also gets the option of the standard leather interior or the infinitely cooler microfiber interior package. The Range Rover Velar in India will go up against a wide range of SUVs from the likes of the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and the Volvo XC90. It will also take on the likes of the Land Rover Discovery and the Jaguar F-Pace from its own JLR family along with more niche SUVs like the Porche Cayenne.
