The opening round in Dubai saw the team finish fifth and fourth respectively in the two races

The first weekend saw Racing Team India secure fifth and fourth-place finishes in Dubai, while both the four-hour races in Yas Marina saw the team ending the race in fifth place. The team's maiden season did offer lots of learnings, especially with a steep learning curve. The team also managed to briefly lead the second Dubai race with the car wearing the Indian tri-colour. Drivers Karthikeyan and Maini showed incredible pace through the races, while Rao, with his IMSA Prototype Challenge brought some important experience and also showed immense improvement in the second round.

Racing Team India is backed by JK Tyres with technical support from reigning Asian Le Mans champions Algarve Pro Racing. The team is now looking to become the first all-Indian outfit to participate in Le Mans 24 Hours that is scheduled in June this year. The 89th edition to be held this year will take place on June 12-13, 2021, and will see the teams compete at the Circuit de la Sarthe in a race that tests both the man and machine.
