Porsche Macan EV
Highlights
The all-electric Porsche Taycan has been a runaway success for the brand and now the carmaker is gearing up to introduce its brand new all-electric SUV this year. The new Porsche Macan EV is expected to go on sale globally by the end of 2022 and its spy images have surfaced online as we are inching closer to its launch. The pre-production test mule has been spotted testing in Austria and as customary, the SUV is camouflaged with quite a bit of cladding and wraps. That said, we can still figure out few details of the upcoming EV.

The tapering roofline of the Porsche Maycan EV looks very sporty.
The new Porsche Macan EV will sport split headlights featuring lamps on the top with four horizontal LED strips. While it is covered with decals, the surrounding of the cluster gives away the details. Then, there is additional lighting on the top section of the trapezoidal area in the bumper. The pseudo grille has also been concealed with wraps while we are expecting that Porsche will remove the grille altogether, as seen in the Porsche Taycan. The active slats in the lower fascia would open to be the primary air intake.

At the rear, the Macan looks are easily identifiable and it gets an active spoiler.
The profile of the SUV has taped-on panels in a bid to hide the lower section of the doors. And there's another concealment piece that disguise the shape of the rear door's window and the roofline there. At the rear, the Macan looks are easily identifiable and gets an active spoiler at the base of the rear window on the hatchback. There are slim taillights on each side and an even smaller lamp in the centre. Surprisingly, you also get to see fake exhaust tips at the rear of this test mule, but we don't expect the production model to get these.

The Porsche Macan EV will be underpinned by Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric platform. Details of its powertrain still aren't available but we expect it to be offered with multiple drivetrain options including single-motor, rear-drive and dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variants. The platform is also ready to support a 350 kW charging system.
