Omega Seiki Mobility, the electric vehicles manufacturing company of the Anglian Omega Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Youth Rural Entrepreneur Foundation (YREF) to set up an EV manufacturing facility in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Youth Rural Entrepreneur Foundation (YREF) works very closely with central and state governments to create self-employment opportunities for rural youth of the country. As a part of this collaboration, the OEM will invest Rs. 100 crore in the state, and will also be creating 10,000 jobs in the next two years in Ghazipur.

The company said that the EV factory in Gazipur, UP, would focus on the growth market of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.

Deb Mukherji, Managing Director, Omega Seiki Mobility said "There are almost 6.5 lakh villages in India of which more than a lakh is in Uttar Pradesh. With this programme we want to be a part of the Central Government's efforts to generate employments via Skill India campaign."

The engagement of Youth Rural Entrepreneur Foundation (YREF) and Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) together will be responsible investment in the electric space for creating electric carts for street vending on electrical three-wheeler and two- wheelers."
