Ola Electric Expands S1 Electric Scooter Test Rides To Over 1000 Cities

Customers in over 1000 cities and towns will be able to test ride the Ola S1 electric scooter. However, the test rides will be initially open only for those who have purchased or reserved the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters.

Ola Electric has officially announced that it has expanded customer test rides for its electric scooter across India. In an official press statement, the company said customers in more than 1000 cities and towns will be able to test ride the Ola S1 electric scooter. Do note, test rides will be initially open only for those who have purchased or reserved the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters. Ola Electric commenced test rides for electric scooters only in four cities - Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru on November 10, 2021, and the company added five more cities - Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and Pune on November 19, 2021.

Ola kicked off test rides in Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata on November 10, 2021

Ola will add more locations to ensure all customers have access to test rides by December 15, 2021. Moreover, test rides will be rolled out in the next set of cities starting November 27 onwards, in cities like Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Bhubaneswar, Tiruppur, Jaipur and Nagpur.

Arun Sirdeshmukh, Chief Business Officer at Ola Electric said, "Customer response to our test rides has been phenomenally positive and we are really thrilled to see their excitement for the revolutionary Ola S1 scooter. Thousands of customers are taking test rides every day and absolutely loving the best in class design, performance, technology and ride quality the Ola S1 delivers. We are scaling test rides up rapidly in the coming weeks and will be covering over 1000 cities and towns across India to ensure every customer has access to test rides by mid-December. This is the fastest national scale-up of test rides ever and a revolution in automotive retail made possible by our direct to consumer model."

The Ola S1 is priced at ₹ 1 lakh, while the S1 Pro is priced at ₹ 1.30 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

Ola Electric launched the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters in India in August 2021. The base Ola S1 has been priced at Rs. 1 lakh, while the S1 Pro costs Rs. 1.30 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Both variants differ in performance, range, number of riding modes, and number of colours, although the basic design is the same. The S1 Pro is more feature-loaded over the base S1 variant, as it gets features like Voice Control, Hill Hold and Cruise Control. The Ola S1 offers a top speed of 90 kmph and a range of 121 km. The top-spec Ola S1 Pro comes with a claimed top speed of 115 kmph with a range of 181 km.
