The camouflaged new-gen Hyundai Tucson hides its major design upgrades. This includes the front styling with the new grille with integrated LED DRLs. The LED headlamps are all-new and so is the bumper. Also expect to see more angular body cladding, blacked-out pillars with the floating roof aesthetic, and new LED taillight design with an LED light strip across the tailgate. What we can see though are the new alloy wheels, contrast coloured roof rails and chrome surround on the window on the test mule. The model is likely to get 19-inch alloy wheels with 18-inch units on the lower variants.
Inside, the new generation Hyundai Tuscon is likely to carry over the same layout and features as the global spec model. This includes the large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, touch controls for the climate control system, ambient lighting, e-parking brake, and a switch for gear changes instead of a conventional gear lever. The cabin could get the all-black upholstery as the global model or Hyundai can opt for beige and brown options as well to suit Indian sensibilities.
Power is likely to come from the familiar 2.0-lire turbo petrol and diesel engine options. The units could be optimised for better performance and efficiency. Transmission choices will include the 6-speed manual and automatic, along with All-Wheel Drive in certain variants. More details on the new generation Tucson for India is expected to unfold in the coming months. Surely, 2022 will be an eventful year for the Korean carmaker.
