New Yamaha SZ-RR Launched at Rs 65,300
Highlights
Yamaha India that has already updated R15, Alpha and FZ series this year, has now launched the Yamaha SZ-RR version in the country. Priced at Rs 65,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this version comes with Blue Core technology.
Powering the new SZ-RR is FZ Fi's 149cc engine, though with a carburetor, that is good for 12bhp and 12.8Nm. Just so you know the old 153cc motor too was producing the similar power output, however, the torque in the new version is provided up at 6,000rpm instead of 4,000rpm in the outgoing one.
According to Yamaha, the Blue Core technology helps the bike get more fuel efficient and smoother to drive. The new bike is claimed to be 11 percent more fuel-efficient than before. What's also new are a shroud and handlebar holder wearing SZ logo. The bike has been made available in three colours - Ivory White, Green Arrow and Red Dash.
Roy Kurian, VP - Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said, "It is our pleasure to be launching the all new SZ-RR version 2.0 this festive season at the closing ceremony of our successful endeavour of Mission 10,000km. With our breakthrough technology, Blue Core, now inducted to our successful SZ-RR model, we want to present our customers with advanced choices and fun riding in the city. Looking at the demand for standard segment commuter motorcycles which is projected at 1.1 million units in 2014, it was indeed ideal for us to delight customers in this segment with the launch of SZ-RR Version 2.0."
