Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd (HMSI), the country's second largest two wheeler maker, is planning to launch a couple of new scooters in India this year. Of all the scooters that the company will launch this year, the new-generation Activa 110cc is the most awaited one since it is the country's most popular scooter. Codenamed ON2Y, the new-gen Active is likely to get both cosmetic and mechanical upgrades, though the engine might remain the same. The 2015 model will get a new suspension with telescopic forks at the front instead of spring loaded hydraulic shock absorbers. The new Activa might also the Activa 125-inspired design and more advanced features.
As mentioned before, the Activa might retain the same old 109.22cc air-cooled engine that is good for 8bhp and 8.4Nm. With Honda Eco Technology (HET), the scooter is claimed to deliver an impressive 60km/l of mileage.
Other than the new Activa, Honda will also launch two more scooters - the Lead 125 and the PCX 150 - in India this year.
