New Formula 1 Race Car: 2022 F1 Car Promises Better racing, More Sustainability
Highlights
- The new rules & regulations are in place to make the sport more exciting
- The new cars are ready to feature in the 2022 F1 race
- In 2022 the drivers will have more "clean air" to drive in
The new regulation race car has been for better battles on the track and closer racing. The new motor beast is highly compact, simpler, and brings in the new generation of F1 teams and drivers. The idea behind the new race cars and the regulatory changes make the sport more exciting for its fans and affordable for the participating teams.
You must be aware that the competing teams in F1 build personalized cars independently. The governing body of Formula 1, FIA, modifies the rules every year to make the sport more exciting, and the teams have to follow strict specifications, rules, and regulations.
Every team walks on a thin rope to save themselves from getting disqualified and crunching in every last ounce of what is possible under the FIA regulations. While the new cars look similar to the old ones, it would be interesting to see how the new 2022 cars perform and how the new rules and regulations change the sport.
Would the teams discover new tricks to master this format? Seeing that will all be a part of the fun that comes along with this sport.
The Goal
The main reason for the excitement about the new cars is that the FIA wants the cars to keep reductions from downforce to a bare minimum. As of now, the drivers lose up to 50% of the downforce when following another car. The new F1 cars will reduce that 50% loss and keep it to a maximum of 15%. This means that the new cars will be able to overtake, making the sport more exciting and thrilling than ever.
Amazon Web Services
For the fanatics, it is not new to know that there is a thing called the drag-reduction system train. Amazon Web Services helps the entire process by working with power simulations quickly and creating a finer race car. Amazon states that the data crunching and processing amount, if done on a standard laptop, would have taken 471 years. Work began with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2017, and here we are today!
What's New?
The new and better race cars planned to hit the tracks in 2021, but the pandemic delayed the launch to 2022. While there will be larger wheels of 18-inches, the floor, and the front wing will also be simpler, and the cars will have lower-profile tires. The new cars will be safer than the ones currently in play.
The team engineers have worked hard to make sure that the cars absorb the impact better, and the debris spray is to a bare minimum if there is a car crash on the track.
To promote the cars to race very close to each other, the massive rear wing has also undergone changes. The drivers will now have more "clean air" because the "dirty air" will not be tossed directly at the car behind them anymore. The cars will continue to run on the turbo-hybrid V6 engines, and there will be newer power units.
