We are in the age of an automotive renaissance. Where the small and relatively unknown automaker once again can do great things - just like the early days of the motorcar. Of course, the big difference is that this time, its all about electric cars and here is another electric carmaker that is keen to make its mark on the world stage. Gyon, a new electric Chinese automaker under the FAW car manufacturing giant has announced that it soon be showcasing its first car in Los Angeles on August 8, 2018. The new car will be an all-electric long wheelbase luxury sedan.

The new luxury sedan will be powered by a set of lithium ion batteries that will give it about 435 miles of range of range, which when translated is a whopping 700 kms! Apart from being a part of the FAW group, Gyon will itself be a part of another electric automaker, Sitech, which will lead all aspects of planning and development for the luxury sedan. The car is said to do 0-100 kmph in less than 4 seconds and will have level four autonomous or self driving capabilities. The autonomous technology will come from the German component giant Bosch. FAW also has ties with the Volkswagen Group in China.

Although not much is seen in the teaser sketch that has been showcased in the image above, the car seems to be sleek and have typically luxurious and yet sporty dimensions. The design house responsible for the Gyon luxury sedan is American GFMI or Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters who have also made several concept cars in the past for a range of automakers like Ford and Daimler. Although not much more is known about the automaker yet, we expect a whole bunch of information to be shared at the sedan's official unveil on August 8.
