Metro Tyres Launches Two-Wheeler Radial Tyres For The Motorcycle Segment

Metro tyres today announced It's expansion into the two-wheeler radial motorcycle segment. The new range of tyres have been designed and developed at the company's R&D facility in Punjab and are targeted for bikes between 150-250cc.

Metro tyres today announced It's expansion into the two-wheeler radial motorcycle segment.

The new range of tyres have been designed and developed at the company's R&D facility in Punjab. The company will be investing Rs 300 crore in upgrading this facility. This includes capacity expansion and inclusion of futuristic R&D facilities. The company has collaborated with Continental, Germany to ensure a complete technology transfer to India in order to produce tyres of global quality standards.

This investment and collaboration will help the company to foray into ultra high quality segment, which requires cutting edge technology for its design, manufacturing, testing and validation.

The Metro radial tyres have been developed in collaboration with Continental

Localisation content for these tyres is 90 percent and the company will cater to a diverse product range of motorcycles starting from entry level 150cc segment to 200-250cc and even to high capacity sports bikes like the KTM Duke 390 and the Honda CBR 250R.

Speaking in the occasion Mr. Rummy Chhabra ,MD Metro tyres said, "With our technological partnership with Continental, Germany, we are confident of introducing a product which will revolutionize the existing Motorcycle Radial Tyre market in India."

Metro Tyres Limited aims to gain 10 per cent market share in the two wheeler Tyres segment with this investment in 2 to 3 years.

The tyres will be available for sale immediately at the company's 100 selected dealers across the country.
