Mercedes to Quit Formula E
Last year, Motorsports.com reported that the Silver Arrows would retire from Formula E after the 2022 season. Mercedes declined to sign up to the Gen3 rules in a factory capacity. There are also rumours that team principal and Mercedes motorsport boss Ian James and Toto Wolff are looking to sell the independent team operation.
This decision to quit Formula E will mean that Venturi Racing customer squad will have to find an alternative powertrain partnership. Moreover, the remainder of the Mercedes Team also sought a new power unit deal.
Also, Mercedes will kick off the upcoming season as reigning driver and constructor world champions.
Mercedes Unveils Livery for Formula E Campaign
As a reveal of Mercedes' 2022 Formula E campaign, the racing team has launched its final works Formula E car. The much-awaited campaign from Mercedes has finally come out, and most Formula E fans can't keep calm. Mercedes announced the 2022 Challenger in the Valencia Marina pre-season testing.
The revised homologation rules ensure that the Silver Arrow 02 is carried over. It was led by Nick Chester and Mercedes F1 KERS architect Pierre Godof. In this season's livery, Mercedes has introduced a few minor tweaks.
Apart from that, it also has included software updates on the machine. These minor adjustments ensure that the grid adapts to 20 kW race mode power. The blue and black paint job of its new livery gets as incredible as it can.
The campaign also suggests that the team has retained de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne as drivers. Nick Chester commented that the team has been able to fix the car's basic geometry.
