Mercedes-Benz India has been on a launching spree of late, the most recent examples being that of its entry-level cars - the A-Class and the B-Class. Turns out, it is now planning to bring in the CLA 45 AMG. Expected to arrive next month, the CLA 45 AMG is the performance-oriented version of the sub-compact sedan CLA-Class.

Powering the CLA 45 AMG is the world's most powerful series production 4-cylinder engine. Its 2.0-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol unit churns out 355bhp and 450Nm of torque, and is capable of touching the 100Km/h mark from standstill in a mere 4.6 seconds. It also offers a top-speed of 250Km/h.

Transmitting power to the all four wheels of the car, via Mercedes' 4MATIC drivetrain system, is a 7-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox. The German luxury car maker will offer nine airbags, adaptive brake with Hold function as well as attention assist, Apple iPhone supported display with TFT technology among other features on the CLA 45 AMG.

To be brought in to the country via the CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) route, the CLA 45 AMG will be the most affordable AMG model in India. However, it will still cost more than the regular Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. The regular CLA will be launched by the early next year and will be pitted against the upcoming Audi A3 Sedan - Audi's most affordable car in India. Since the Audi A3 Sedan will be priced around Rs 20-22 lakh, expect the regular CLA to be also offered within the same range.

The other AMG model that the company might launch soon is the new C 63 AMG, since the current regular C-Class will soon be replaced by the new-gen model, and its AMG model is also necessary. Just so you know, the company has removed the existing C63 AMG from the list on its official Indian website, which further assures us of the new C63 AMG arrival in India.
