We have already seen a bunch of new and facelifted cars from Mercedes-Benz India this year, and this 25th we will see the new-gen C-Class. After the C-Class, the German luxury carmaker will launch the much-awaited CLA-Class, which will take on the Audi A3 sedan. In fact, the company has brought two right hand drive (RHD) units, one petrol and one diesel, of the CLA-Class for homologation already. For people not in the know, the performance-oriented model of the entry-level sedan, the CLA 45 AMG, is already on sale in India.

The CLA-Class might be powered by the same engines that currently do duty on the GLA-Class SUV, i.e. a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel. While the petrol model churns 181bhp and 300Nm, the diesel unit produces 136bhp and 300Nm. Both the engines will come mated to a 7G-DCT automatic transmission.

The CLA-Class will be employ Mercedes' MFA (Modular Front-wheel drive Architecture) platform, on which the A-Class, B-Class, GLA-Class and CLA45 AMG are also based.

Expected to be priced around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the CLA-Class will become the most affordable sedan from Mercedes-Benz in India.
