Mercedes-AMG introduces all-new E63 and E63 S Sedans that are possibly the most powerful E-Class variants of all time. The cars comes with 4Matic AWD system and a swanky new trick called 'Drift Mode'.

Mercedes-AMG, the performance arm of the German luxury carmaker, has revealed the new E63 and E63 S Sedans that are the most powerful E-Class variants of all time. At least that is how the Stuttgart-based carmaker is introducing the cars to the world, and at 603bhp, it is hard to believe otherwise. Both the cars get the same turbocharged V8 engine but, while the former makes 563bhp, it is the meaner big brother E63 S that puts out the startling 603bhp. Mercedes-AMG E63 S While Mercedes surely wants you to focus on these impressive numbers, we would also like to add that the cars are also one of the most luxurious, technologically advanced super sedans in the market. Both the E63 and E63 S come with a host of new comfort and smart features that include all the goodness of the E-Class and the sportiness that comes with the AMG tag. And we will get to know more about it at their official debut next month at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. Mercedes-AMG E63 Cabin Visually, both the E63 and E63 S retain the handsome exterior profile and smooth character lines of the E-Class Sedan. That said, the cars do come with some cosmetic changes like - a new single slat grille, a new front bumper housing slightly larger air intakes and a sporty exhaust setup at the rear. The wheel arches that are a little more than half an inch wider than on the standard car and you also get matte-black AMG 20-inch alloy wheels. Mercedes-AMG E63 Side Coming back the performance bit, as mentioned earlier, both the new E63 Sedan and the E63 S Sedan pack a meaty turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine under the hood. The motor uses twin-scroll technology to improve performance and reduce turbo lag. While power in the standard E63 is limited to 563bhp with a peak torque of 750Nm, the more powerful E63 S churns out 603bhp and develops 850Nm of peak torque. Both the models come mated to a nine-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and also feature Mercedes' signature 4Matic all-wheel drive system. This efficient transmission propels the standard E63 from standstill to 98 km/h in mere 3.4 seconds, whereas, the E63 S achieves the same feat in 3.3 seconds. Mercedes-AMG E63 4.0-Litre V8 Engine Another feature that is sure to make enthusiasts drool is the new Drift Mode. Yes, you read it right and it comes as standard on the E63 S. Apparently the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system uses fully variable torque distribution at the front and rear axles and when you need to have a little fun, just select the 'Race' drive mode, switch off stability control, activate the transmission's manual mode and drift away. Mercedes claims that the Drift Mode turns the E63 into a "purely rear-wheel drive" vehicle, and stays this way until the driver turns off Drift Mode.
