Highlights

  • Brabus decided to give an even more powerful engine in the S63 Cabriolet
  • Its top speed is electronically limited to 350 Km/h
  • The engine makes 838bhp and 1150Nm of torque
The Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet is a tarmac scorcher in its own right. Under the hood lurks a 5.5-litre V8 monster that pumps out 577bhp and a massive 900Nm of torque. In all likelihood, an engine this powerful will be intimidating for most mortals. But for some, who cannot get their fix of speed and all things fast, Brabus has a special something. The boffins at Brabus had the temerity to think that the AMG S63 Cabriolet was a little 'short' on power and decided to give it an upgrade. Behold, the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio! Brabus's own version of the Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet. It now gets a mental 6.0-litre engine which now pumps out 838bhp (WHAT!!) and a torque figure of 1450Nm (that is abnormal!). Just so that the engine doesn't fry itself, the torque output had to be toned down to 1150Nm. Also, the components such as the pistons, con-rods have been upgraded as well. The new engine also gets special 'Brabus' turbochargers which can be easily used to launch a spaceship as well. While we haven't heard the engine roar but be rest assured that if you so as much tap on the throttle, chances are that all things made of glass will be shattered. The engine puts all of that power and torque on to the tarmac through all of its 4 wheels, linked to a 7-speed transmission.

Brabus has used carbon-fibre generously in the Mercedes AMG S63 Cabrio including surrounds for the mirrors and the side air intakes. The wood inlays in the production model have been swapped out for carbon fibre trims and aluminium inserts as well. The car wears its rubbers on 21-inch wheels, with an option to upgrade to 22-inch wheels as well. The mental engineers who worked on this behemoth of a car say that the car does 0-100Km/h is just 3.5 seconds and can go on to hit a maximum of 350kmph. It could do even more but it's just that the tyres will tear themselves apart and Brabus, tch tch, haven't been able to find a way of putting in aircraft tyres on this car.

We really cannot think of who or what would need a car that can literally power the earth's core and pull a couple of cruise ships on a trailer behind it at the same time. In case you would like to believe that you are that person or thing, then you can order a Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio for yourself. Ohh and yes! Brabus will give you a 100,000km warranty on the car as well, so peace of mind is assured.
