First unveiled during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Kyburz eRod, as mentioned earlier, is a car for the child inside an adult. The cars come with the striped down and bare minimum styling of a sports car like the Atom, coupled with an zero-emission electric motor and battery pack that can give you that exciting performance you desire. As already said, all three trims offer different level of performance with power ranging from 60bhp in the Basic variant, going right up to 201bhp in the top-of-the-line Race variant.
The eRod Basic comes mated to a 10-kWh battery pack that can offer a range as low as 55 km to 60 km on six-hours of charge. This version comes with an electric motor that belts-out 60bhp and peak torque of about 140Nm, which is good for a few hours on the track or to drive around your vicinity. The intermediate Fun trim is equipped with a larger 17.3 kWh battery that offers a more reasonable range of 100 km to 130 km with the charge time up to ten hours. That said the electric motor is the same to do not expect any additional grunt from this mid-level variant. Top speed of both the base and mid-range model is just above 120 km/h.
Coming to the top-spec Race variant, this model is for those who either want to get some additional action on the tracks or wouldn't mind taking this funky, go-kart looking electric car to work. This model gets the 39 kWh battery that has a range of 220 km and that too on just four hours of charge. Along with the larger battery you obviously get the beefier 201bhp electric motor that develops about 305 Nm of peak torque, which enables the car to get you a top speed of slightly over 130 km.
