Highlights
As the weeks tumble to the Geneva Motorshow, car manufacturers are slowly but surely revealing what we will be a witness to; at their stalls. Mclaren has published a teaser image that previews an entry-level sports car and has christened it the 650S.
The image reveals little and it is difficult for us to tell what it will look like but what we know is that it be slotted beneath the MP4-12C. But what we can say about it is that the 650S will obtain some design cues from the P1.
The 650S is also a celebration for McLaren, as with it, it celebrates its 50th year in Formula 1. The mid-engined 650S will be powered by a detuned version of the 3.8-liter V8 engine which does duty on the MP4-12C. Power will be sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and the engine will power the car from 0-100km/h in less than 4 seconds.
If you're wondering if we will see the car in India, well, here's the good news- you will. The company is planning to come to India and set shop with dealerships in Mumbai and Bangalore and you will see the McLaren cars out on Indian roads soon enough.
