Highlights

Launched around three years ago, we all remember the MP4-12C as the first modern supercar by McLaren as it followed the footsteps of the iconic F1 from the 90's. McLaren has officially announced that the production of the MP4-12C will officially be ceased because they want to focus on the newest of the company's model, the 650S.

Since it's unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motorshow, the 650S has received an overwhelming response and the company plans to cash in on this attention. McLaren has already received a six month order bank and hence the focus will be more on the production of the 650S.

We had earlier reported about McLaren halting the production of the MP4-12C because of the demand of the 650S but to tell you the truth, I still feel the MP4-12C isn't that outdated. With a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 capable of churning out 616bhp, the 12C can sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in 3.1 seconds. That is fast but surprisingly people have taken a liking to the newer 650S and that has forced McLaren to pull the curtains on the MP4-12C.
